Sesame Street.
6 months, 24 days, 8 hours, 39 minutes old

For the past couple of months we have been watching a fair amount of Sesame Street. We DVR it every day and can turn it on whenever, usually in 10-15 minute increments. Ali LOVES it! Elmo is her favorite, but that seems pretty par for the course nowadays. She also enjoys Cookie Monster and Telly. I watched alot of Sesame Street growing up. For the most part we only watched PBS (OPB for you Oregonians). I remember stopping right when Zoe was introduced as a character. Anyway, after re-entering the arena Tony and I have a few questions and observations:
- Is Prairie Dawn a "little person?"
- How did Elmo get so big? Did kids like him and they gave ‘Elmo’s World’ or did they feature him more and then he got more popular?
- Does anyone else notice how eighties most of the show is? Grover, Bert, and Ernie all LOOK eighties…and most of the segments are the same ones I watched in the 80’s!
- Is it just me or does the Elmo in the ‘Elmo’s World’ themesong look a little haggard and dirty?
- When did Baby Bear become a main character? And why does he sometimes have a lisp and sometimes not?
- I don’t remember The Count having a wife. Is that new?
- Sesame Street is sponsored by Mcdonalds?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
- Do you think the actors (like Gordan, Marie, Bab, and Gina) set out to do this until they were seventy (because that’s how old some of them are looking)?
- Um, Gina’s baby is like two. Why is she still rocking him all the time like he’s an infant?
- Dr. Phil does not belong!
- Does anyone know the airing schedule? As far as a "season" or whatever. Thus far I think we’ve just been watching reruns and I wondered if the show is effected by the writer’s strike. A lot of the reruns are from ‘07 and ‘05 so some of what I’m seeing may be outdated.
- There is a very big push toward spanish right now…what about other languages?
That’s all I got for now but some may be added later.

Haha, you crack me up. I’ve observed/wondered many of the same questions. I am always confused by all the ’80sness, when the date says 2005 or whatever for the show, because I swear that no one dresses like many of the people dress anymore! And I ALWAYS wonder whether the actors just wanted to break into show biz and ended up stuck on Sesame Street forever. I also wonder whether, while they’re singing potty songs, etc. they’re like, “God, will this ever end?”

Oh my gosh! I was laughing out loud and hard! Soooo true on all counts….not to be confused with the character. I didin’t know he had a wife. Where have I been? I always thought it comical when celebrities where fetured. It makes wonder whick celeb’s they’ve had on. Does the feture come with perks or is it like a psa or something? You’ve made me want to watch an eppisode just to laugh at it! Silly stuff.
Hey, you could write a questiona and answer or faq book on the show????? Cha-ching! Love you.

Okay, here’s some undeniable proof. The letter of the day today was ‘K’, and Cookie gave Prairie the word “kowabunga” as an example something that starts with K. If that’s not eighties I don’t know what is!
