the potty! already?!?!
4 months, 10 days, 12 hours, 6 minutes old
on the way back from seattle we were listening to this podcast about "elimination communication," which is pretty much potty conditioning at a very young age (birth in some cases). we thought it was a cool idea and kind of funny so this afternoon, during a fairly light diaper change, it seemed like maybe the best was yet to come (so to speak). so i took off her overalls and diaper, put little ali on the toilet, and within like 45 seconds she was smiling and peeing. most likely just a coincidence, but sweet and awesome just the same.
UPDATE!!! - she’s 4 for 4. twice last night, once this morning before the bath and once after. put her on, wait 10 seconds, she starts to pee. i knew it, she’s a genius.

This is hilarious to me! Ali seriously is a genius! How does she know to pee when she’s over the toilet?? I am perplexed by this. Go Ali!

We did this too! By the time Sam was three days past two, he only had one ‘accident’. Way to go Ali! Love you guys.

Okay, this is just sort of unbelievable! But Ali does not like wet and dirty diapers and Tony was the same way. He potty trained himself at about 14 months, once he figured out that he was in control. I’m perfectly happy to go with the “genius” hypothesis.
