You guys are doing great! This is all so completely normal, do not start to stress. I would totally recommend a long soak in the tub and then try to sleep… honestly! If your body will give you even an hour or two it will be totally worth it. There is a chance that your labor might stop for a bit tonight and if it does just embrace it and enjoy the rest because when it is ready you will go again. I had two days of labor and then four days off and then Ethan was born in 12 hours (retrospectively I was so thankful for those four extra nights of sleep!!).

Thanks Emily! Through all this we’re asking ourselves “what would Emily do?” We feel like newbies after getting sent home (and we were so confident!) but I guess its a ritual of sorts. I’m glad we went through the experience of check-in and everything, so that won’t be new to us next time. We’re hoping its sooner rather than later though, of course!

Sucks that you got sent home…but rest is good, if you can manage it. And sometimes it comes fast, like when I was at that stage. I went to sleep, woke up when I could feel the contractions getting stronger and she was there really soon after that. So excited for you guys!
